Who we are

Ideamerit s.r.o. is a software company based in the Czech Republic, part of the European Union. We build desktop-native data modeling tools under the Datensen.com brand — tools used by developers, database architects, DBAs, and data engineers in more than 85 countries worldwide.

Our flagship product, Luna Modeler, is a professional data modeling and schema design tool for relational databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, and SQLite. Moon Modeler covers the NoSQL side — MongoDB, CosmosDB and other document databases. Both products are actively developed and maintained, with regular releases and long-term support.

Our story

The company was founded with a simple observation: professional database work deserves professional tools, and those tools should respect the people using them. That means running on your machine, not in a vendor's cloud. Storing your schemas locally, not on a third-party server. Charging you once for the software, not locking you into a subscription you can't escape.

Our team has been working in the field of database tooling and data modeling for over 20 years. The products have evolved significantly — from earlier database design software through to the current suite — but the underlying conviction has not changed: good tooling is built around how experienced practitioners actually work, not around what is easiest to monetize as a SaaS product.

That long history is visible in the products. Platform-specific SQL generation, fine-grained ALTER script output, first-class support for database-specific constructs like PostgreSQL domains or Oracle packages — these are not features you add quickly. They are the result of years of iteration with users who work on real database projects at real organizations.

EU-backed development

Ideamerit has received funding and support through EU-backed programs, reflecting the company's standing as an established technology business within the European Union's innovation ecosystem. This is not a bootstrapped side project — it is a company with a formal legal structure, a registered office in the Czech Republic, and a track record of sustained product development over multiple years.

Luna Modeler — ER diagram and schema design for relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite). Forward engineering, reverse engineering, ALTER scripts, schema conversion, and interactive HTML reports.
Moon Modeler — Visual data modeling for MongoDB, and other document and NoSQL databases.
Galaxy Modeler — Schema design tool for GraphQL.
Meteor Modeler — GraphQL schema design and documentation.
Merit Modeler — Completely free tool for drawing flowcharts, use case and data flow diagrams.

All products share the same core principles: desktop-native, offline-first, perpetual license, and no data leaving your machine.

Why desktop-native matters to us

We made a deliberate choice to build desktop applications at a time when the industry was moving everything to the browser. We stand by that choice.

A desktop application that runs locally is usually faster, more responsive, and fundamentally more private than a browser-based tool that routes your schema data through a vendor's servers. For professional database work — where schemas can contain sensitive business logic, PII field definitions, or regulated data structures — the modeling tool is part of your security perimeter. We think that deserves more than a privacy policy promise.

Our tools require no account, collect no telemetry. Your project files are plain files on your disk. You back them up, version-control them, and share them however your team works. We do not intermediate any of that.

Our tools are used by professionals across more than 85 countries — from individual developers working on personal projects to teams at established organizations managing complex database estates. Our user base spans every continent and includes users in highly regulated industries where data governance requirements make our offline architecture a hard requirement, not just a preference.

Support is handled directly by the development team. When users report issues or ask questions, the people who built the software are the ones who respond.
