Custom Line Points for Clearer Document References
Document databases trade rigid schemas for flexibility, but that same flexibility can turn a diagram of embedded and referenced collections into a mess of crossing lines. Take control of exactly how each reference routes: Ctrl+click a selected line to drop a custom waypoint and bend it exactly where you want, Ctrl+double-click a point to remove it, or use the right-click menu to add a point at the cursor or clear every point from a line in one go.
Points snap into line with a neighboring point or anchor, so a reference between two collections stays perfectly straight, and holding Shift while dragging locks its movement to a single axis. Whichever line mode you're using — basic or curved — points render exactly where you placed them.
Orthogonal Routing for a Cleaner Collection Map
Give your MongoDB schema diagram a clean, technical look with two new orthogonal line modes: horizontal/vertical-only routing instead of diagonals, with your choice of detailed field-to-field mode or basic model that with anchors pointing to any side of an object.
Combine orthogonal routing with the new custom line points for a fully hand-tuned layout — points on an orthogonal line always stay on the grid, so a reference between collections never sneaks off at an angle, even once your document model grows to dozens of collections.
New Assets for Documenting Your Document Model
Some modeling decisions — why a field is embedded instead of referenced, which collection owns a piece of denormalized data, how a sharding key was chosen — never fit neatly inside a schema.
Use the new graphical assets to note them directly on your diagram, combined with flowcharts and data flow elements, so the reasoning behind your document model travels with the diagram instead of living only in someone's memory.
Single File HTML Report for Easy Sharing
Sharing documentation used to mean a whole folder of files — HTML, stylesheets, icons, images — that could easily lose a piece along the way. Not anymore. Generate a report as a single, self-contained HTML file: no separate styles, no icons, no images to misplace. Attach it to an email, drop it in a shared drive, or publish it on an intranet — open it on any machine and it looks exactly the same, with nothing left behind.
